I want to do two things for the meeting at my house. First, I will show everyone my array of rain barrels. I have collector barrels and distribution barrels and they are all hooked up with a hose system. It’s very interesting and I think the group would like to see how it works.
Second, for those who are interested in creating their own rain barrels, I am willing to do a hands-on demonstration of how to build one. If anyone is interested, they have to do two things. First, they have to have an empty plastic barrel of some kind. Perhaps a food storage barrel, or something else like that. Second, they have to let me know, so that I can have Vince, at Woodstock Hardware, put together a set of the hardware they will need to create a rain barrel.
My phone number and directions to my house are below. I need at least two days notice if you want to construct your own rain barrel. Please let me know if you need any further information.
My phone number is 845.679.0062 and my address is 24 Wardwell Lane, Woodstock, NY.
Directions are pretty simple.
It is off of Rte 212. Coming from Woodstock it is the first left turn after Gallo’s. Coming from Saugerties it is the last right turn before Gallo’s.
Our April meeting is this Wednesday the 8th from 6-8PM in the upstairs room at the Woodstock Library. Our guest will be Ken Greene from the Hudson Valley Seed Library. He is the one who provided us with a 20% discount for seeds for this coming growing season.
Hope to see you there,
The Garden Share Working Group’s next meeting is Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at Toni Wiedenbacher’s Home and Garden form 6-8PM. It will be a POTLUCK.
At the May Garden Share Meeting Toni and I will explore the spiritual resonance our gardens and outdoor spaces have for us, and how to honor and enhance this gift. With our commitment to mimicking nature’s stacked functions, we propose to explore this through: creating park-like open spaces that minimize lawn mowing;
