2015 Grassroots Environmental Water Line
Proposal: To educate and enlist Ulster County citizens in fun, community building experiences that teach us how our watersheds are our lifeboats and prepare us to protect them.
Green Stories to the Rescue from Woodstock Transition offers a dynamic experience of personal storytelling and theatre arts — employing auditory, kinetic, and visual capacities — to expand our ways of seeing and acting upon environmental problems. Members of community groups will learn to focus their memory, imagination and emotional embodied presence as they move into their environmental work. Musicians and poets should join us. We will include walks and talks and storytelling in environmental venues. We will also use appropriate permaculture methods to focus on practical, domestic problems solving for homes and gardens.
We need to put on our creative hats to express our appreciation of the land’s beauty in song and stories and to inspire our souls to keep on giving.
Our collective contributions will lead us into our watershed lifeboat.
