Solarize Woodstock
Woodstock Transition is partnering to bring the Solarize community campaign to the Woodstock area!
Our launch event will be on Monday, July 13th, at 7PM, at the Woodstock Town Hall. Stay tuned for more to follow.
- Solarize is a proven community campaign that builds public awareness about the benefits of solar electric
- It simplifies the process while still offering options: buy or lease; roof or ground mount. All the necessary permitting is handled by your installer.
- It adds trust: selected installers are certified and their work is guaranteed.
- It adds confidence: you are assured of getting high-quality components in your system.
- There are many ways to get your questions answered: community workshops, solar home tours, “live” solar installations, and “Solar Ambassadors” – neighbors who have solar and can tell you their story.
- It saves you money: Solarize is a group purchase discount. You will receive the full state incentives and federal tax credits. Through our partnership with RUPCO, you will receive help in accessing the low interest loans that best meet your needs.
Solarize Hudson Valley is a program of Catskill Mountainkeeper and Sustainable Hudson Valley, supported by Community Solar NY and the New York State energy authority, NYSERDA.

Publicity & Community Outreach WG Meeting
Sunday 5/25, the Publicity & Community Outreach WG met to plan the second half of 2014 events.
The First Year – Initiating Group Events
From its inception, with the formation of the Woodstock Transition Initiating Group in June, 2011, Publicity and Community Outreach have been central activities. In our first year we organized “raising awareness” events in the town, consisting of speakers, panels, discussions, and movies. The topics included water, food, waste management, tool exchange, permaculture, seed swap, and the new economy. Some of the movies shown were Transition 2.0, The Power of Community, … This first year culminated, in September of 2012, with our Woodstock Transition Festival. To publicize this event and to inform more Woodstock citizens of our endeavor, we personally visited each business owner in town. Between 200 and 300 people participated at the festival.
Welcome to our new website!
